The Truth About Saving Lives In Any Crisis

Today the crisis is the earthquake in Nepal. By the time you’re reading this, there will be another one somewhere else, or perhaps a hurricane, tornado, or other natural, or man-made disaster. All of these are tragedies and signs of a planet that is not at peace.

A lot of decent and moral people, along with some not so decent, will always feel compelled to assist the helpless and hurting in these dark days. And we all should. We all should do what we can to help those in need, those in crisis. That is never in question.

However, we are not permanently saving lives by doing so. None of us can really save a life. We can merely extend life on earth. Saving a life would involve someone who is willing and worthy enough to take your place in death. Your place in eternal life, a saved life, can only come from a savior.
